The City of Wagoner, Mayor Jones and fellow City Councilmen recognized the service and dedication of
retiring Councilwoman Mary Jane Whisnant at the April 1st meeting.
Mary Jane was elected to the City Counicl in 1983 and she holds the distinction of being the first worman elected to serve in the City of Wagoner. She has served on the Council representing Wards I, II, and III. During her Counci tenure she has served as Council President, Budget Committee Chair and as a member of numerous council committees. In the community she is a well known supporter and volunteer for organizations like United Way,
Chamber of Commerce, Governor's Water Advisory Board and currently serves on the Wagoner
Community Hospital Board of Directors.
"Ms. Whisnant is the epitomy of self-less service to her community. The many years of dedication and service to Wagoner is what makes this community a great place" per Mayor Jones.
Josh Bogle will now be representing Ward III. He will be sworn into office on April 15th at 6p.
Also Congratullations to Ken Peters-who received the Wagoner Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame Award and
Police Chief Bob Haley who received a President's Award. Both were honored at the Chamber's Annual Banquet.
