Wagoner EMS began operation in October of 1982 to facilitate the need for
pre-hospital emergency care in Eastern Wagoner County. Wagoner EMS provides ambulance coverage to
eastern Wagoner County which covers as far north as Mayes County, as far south
as Muskogee County, and as far east as Cherokee County. Since its inception, Wagoner EMS has
continued to grow and develop with training and equipment, making Wagoner EMS
one of the front runners of pre-hospital care in the region. Currently, Wagoner EMS employs 14 fulltime
employees as well as 10 part-time.
Wagoner EMS staffs 2 ambulances 24 hours a day, and has the ability to
staff and deploy another 2 fully staffed ambulances in states of
emergency. Wagoner EMS provides
paramedic level life support on most of its ambulances. Wagoner EMS responds to more than just
medical emergencies, we also transport medical patients from area hospitals to
other local hospitals for higher levels of care, specialized care centers, and
also provide for basic transport as needed.
Wagoner EMS also provides community education opportunities including
CPR training and first aid training.
